Introduction
Highwire’s application imposes access control measures on client users in multiple ways, including sophisticated identity and access management roles defined and built into our architecture, as well as enforced password hygiene.
In addition, Highwire offers client users the ability to enable multifactor authentication (MFA) in order to enhance security by adding an extra layer of control beyond a password.
Setting Multifactor Authentication
- After logging in, navigate to “My Profile” in the upper right corner by clicking your user name:
- Ensure that you have a current email address and/or cell phone number saved in your profile (your MFA code will be sent to you using one of these two delivery methods). Then, click the toggle switch under “Multi-factor Authentication”:
Logging in to Highwire with Multifactor Authentication
Once multifactor authentication is set in the Highwire application, your login flow will include an additional step beyond inputting your password.
- After logging in with your password, you will see a Multifactor authentication pop-up. As shown below, you can choose to get your MFA code by either email or text:
- After choosing your delivery method, you will receive either an email or a text message with your MFA code as shown below:
- Input your MFA code into the Highwire login screen to complete your login:
