Introduction
Highwire’s Activity timeline consolidates contractor information to ensure that clients have an easy way to view, edit, and add updates related to a specific contractor, including:
- Approval Status Changes
- Comments
- Uploads
As you know, the Contractors page gives clients a list view of the contractors they are connected with. Clients can also select a particular contractor and delve deeper into the powerful data and key insights that Highwire offers.
Activity Timeline
Once you click on a particular contractor, you will be brought to the contractor's Risk Overview tab, which is often referred to as their “profile”. (In the screenshots throughout this article, we will use Broton Electric, a fictitious company, as our example contractor).
The contractor’s profile serves as a central hub to access key information about that contractor. In this article we will focus on the contractor’s Activity timeline:
By clicking on the Activity button in the upper right, client users will open a slideover that provides a timeline of approvals, comments, and uploads for that contractor. For those clients who utilize Highwire’s powerful Projects tab, the Activity timeline fully captures and displays events created in Projects, and vice versa. Information originating from Projects is automatically tagged with the project name.
Each event displays the user’s name, project tag (if applicable), and the date:
Search
The search function is located at the top of the Activity timeline and is a simple way to filter and find specific activities.
The first screenshot below shows an example of filtering by user name, so that you can find activities related to a specific person. The second screenshot below shows an example of filtering by project name, so that you can find activities related to a specific project:
Add an Activity (Comment or Document Upload)
To add a comment directly into the Activity timeline, type your text into the comment box at the bottom of the slideover. To upload a document, click on the paperclip icon right below the comment box and you’ll be prompted to select and attach a document from your device. To the right of the paperclip icon is a dropdown that allows you to add a project tag to any comment or upload. Once you’re ready to add the activity, click on the Add button and your new activity will immediately appear at the top of your timeline:
Edit or Delete a Comment
Users can only edit or delete the comments they have created (client administrators have the ability to edit or delete any entry). Click on the three dots next to the activity that you want to change and a dropdown menu will appear to Edit or Delete:
Clicking on edit reopens the comment box and allows you to add or change the text as needed. Once you click the Save button your comment will be updated and reposted on the activity timeline with a notation on who edited the comment and on what date:
Delete a Document
Similar to comments in the Activity timeline, users can only delete the documents they have created (client administrators have the ability to delete any document). Click on the trash can icon next to a document to delete it. The document will be removed and a note will be added to the activity timeline identifying who deleted the document and on what date:
