How do I invite a contractor to enroll in Highwire via Projects?

Introduction

A client can easily add a new contractor to their team by inviting the contractor to enroll in Highwire and connect to them. In many cases, clients will work with Highwire’s enrollment team to manage and expedite this process for a new project or at initial onboarding, but clients can also invite a contractor directly on the Contractors view or the Projects view. This article will focus on inviting contractors from Projects.

 

Invite Contractor from Projects 

You can initiate the invite contractor functionality from Projects in the View Contractors tab:

 

Or, if you are working within a specific project and realize that a contractor you want to assign is not in Highwire, you can invite the contractor directly from Step 2 of the project workflow:

 

 

By clicking on Add Contractor in Step 2, you open a screen where you can initiate the invite contractor functionality:

In both cases, clicking on the blue Invite Contractor box in the upper right-hand corner will begin the same process:

1. A slideover window will open where you will enter company information for the new contractor:

 

In this first step, you'll provide essential information, including:

  • Company name (required)
  • Company address
  • Website (required)
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN) (required if no website is included)

Once you’ve filled out the required fields click Continue.

 

2. The system will automatically check if the contractor already exists in Highwire. Any potentially matching companies will be presented to you for review. This prevents duplicate entries and ensures you have all the necessary information readily available.

Review the list of potentially matching companies and select the appropriate one. If your contractor is not on the list, you can add them as a new company in Highwire. Click Continue to proceed.

 

3. In the final step, you will provide the contact information for your new contractor, which is crucial for sending the connection request.

  • If you selected an existing company in Step 2, you can provide new contact information or select from a list of existing contacts.
  • If you did not find any matching companies in Step 2, simply add the new contact's information.

 

 

Click the Add Contractor button to complete the process. Your new contractor has been successfully added to your portfolio.

An email will be sent to the new contractor notifying them of your interest in connecting. Our team of enrollment specialists will follow up with them to ensure a smooth and successful connection.
