Introduction
From Inspections in the left-hand navigation, clients can move across the horizontal menu to the Inspections tab, which provides an overview table of all inspections across your projects and contractors.
This high-level view lets you quickly see all inspections, including the type and date of the inspection, the associated project, the status, the number of findings broken down into positive, negative, and uncorrected, and the inspector:
Adding an Inspection
To add a new inspection, click on the “Add Inspection” button in the top right corner of the screen:
This will open up a slide-over panel where you will be prompted to select the Project from the first drop-down, followed by the Inspection Type from the second drop-down:
Once you click the “Create” button, you will be brought to a separate overview page for the new inspection. This overview page is broken down into two main parts: details of the inspection at the top (date, inspector, project, etc.), and a section to add new findings at the bottom:
Add a Finding
To add a finding to the newly created inspection, click on the add finding button in the center of the screen (alternatively, you can use the same button in the top right of the screen):
This will open up a slide-over screen where you will be prompted to select the Contractor. You may use the search bar, or click their name in the list:
After you have chosen a contractor, select a Category:
Then, select a Question:
You will then be required to indicate whether the finding is Positive or Negative.
Positive Finding
With positive findings, you are required to provide the Number of Findings. You also have the option to add a Description and Location for the finding and to upload any attachments by clicking “Add.” When you are complete, click the “Add Finding” button at the bottom of the slide-over:
Negative Finding
For negative findings, you are required to enter: Risk Level, Number of Findings, Location, and a Description. You can also choose to add a Root Cause and Type, and add an attachment by clicking the “Add” button.
At the bottom half of the slide-over, there are additional options available for assigning the task of correcting the finding. The options are: Action Required, Assigned To, and Due Date. They allow you to specify what needs to be done, who is responsible, and when the correction needs to be completed.
Risk Level for Negative Finding
When identifying risk level, you should consider both the likelihood of an injury occurring and the potential severity of the outcome:
- Low: Potential for injuries needing only first aid.
- Medium: Could lead to a recordable injury with 1-5 lost days.
- High: May result in injuries with over five lost days or significant property damage.
- IDLH: Could lead to disabling injuries or a fatality.
For reference, below are some example negative findings and their associated risk level for several different construction safety categories:
| Category | Negative Finding | Risk Level |
| PPE | The employee was observed walking through the site with no safety glasses. | Low |
| PPE | The employee was observed working with non-powered hand tools and no safety glasses. | Medium |
| PPE | The employee was observed using a hand-held grinder with no safety glasses. | High |
| Category | Negative Finding | Risk Level |
| Hot Work | The employee was observed performing hot work with no daily permit posted. | Low |
| Hot Work | The employee was observed performing hot work with no fire extinguisher nearby. | Medium |
| Hot Work | The employee was observed performing hot work with no fire extinguisher, no fire watch, and uncontrolled sparks/slag falling to lower levels. | High |

There are also the options to provide a Description, Location, and add Attachments.
For Negative Findings, two more categories are required in addition to Number of Findings, Category, and Question:

- Location
Attachments are still optional, and additional fields are also available:
- Root Cause

Assigning Inspections
Assign Inspections is a new function for teams to manage inspection ownership. Based on role permissions, users can now assign inspections to other inspectors and view everything assigned across their team.

A sidepanel will open up with different parameters to choose from:
As you make selections, additional parameters will appear to further specify who you need to assign the inspection to:
After entering the Due Date, click “Continue” at the bottom of the page:
Review the details of your inspection assignment, then click “Assign Inspection:”
Where can I find inspections assigned to myself or others?
Assigned inspections will be displayed in one of two locations for access: the “My Inspections” or “Assigned” tabs. If your user role does not have permission to assign inspections to other users, “My Inspections” will instead be named “Assigned to Me.”
